On Steam service CS:GO is approaching Dota 2 as for popularity

According to statistics released by the Steam Spy service founder Sergey Galyonkin, Steam platform users are spending less time playing Dota 2, giving priority to Counter-Strike: Global Offensive. According to the information received, as for the end of March, gamers from all over the world have spent more than 11 billion hours a day playing Dota 2, while CS: GO got about 8 billion hours.

Among the Steam users Dota 2 was at the peak of its popularity in February 2016, when the number of hours spent per day was 16 billion. The record month for CS: GO was February 2017 with 9 billion hours.

It is also noteworthy that 99 million users of Steam have Dota 2, but only 9.5 million have launched it over the last fortnight. While for the same period, 8.8 million gamers, out of 23.5 million of those who have bought CS: GO on Steam Spy, have played the game.
